Volante Design is proud to present The Kestrel, our newest jacket.
It’s been a long time in the making, but we are happy to say that it is now available for purchase on our also-brand-new website.

Check it out! volantedesign.us

It’s available in four different color schemes, both men’s and women’s cuts, and seven sizes.

Thanks again to all of our wonderful followers, supporters, and fans: we wouldn’t have gotten this far without you. We hope you enjoy this jacket, and we look forward to bringing you even more in the future.

Assassin Jacket.

This is the evolved form of the black/yellow beaked jacket from a few weeks ago. The design has been adjusted to increase range of motion so that it is more suitable for parkour and stunting. It also now has zipper pockets, so that you don’t lose your things while jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

This is the third and final Volante jacket to be used as a costume is Assassin’s Creed: Artefact 2

Shown in the Practical Assassin color scheme: grey main, red secondary.

Women’s Modern Assassin Armor.

This is the denim Modern Assassin Armor, women’s style, in black/red. This particular version is intended for use as costuming in Assassin’s Creed: Artefact 2 as well, for the 2nd of the 3 main characters.

Since the characters will be active in martial arts and acrobatic stunts, we designed special gussets for increased range of motion in the arms.

Assassin Beaked Jacket: Daniel Cross color scheme.

I would like to introduce this new design. It is an upgraded version of the Beaked pullover/zipper hoodie seen here: http://blog.volantedesign.us/post/18382002708

It will be available in two versions, un-lined and lined. At this point it doen’t have a concrete price point, but expect around ~$125-$150.

The jacket is designed with a higher range of motion than that of the Modern Armor, but has the sturdiness of denim that the sweatshirts don’t quite provide. There will be an option to order the jacket with ‘gauntlet cuffs’ as pictured here, or the standard cuffs of the Modern Armor. In future incarnations of the jacket, I will probably change the pockets to zippered pockets, so that the jacket can be worn for high-activity sports like parkour.

Ancestors: Kenway

At long last, here it is, the Kenway coat. Based on Connor Kenway’s revolutionary war regimental assassin coat. It sports turnback center panels with reversible zippers so it can be worn open or closed, as well as turnback tails which fasten at the back center, and can be unbuttoned and let to hang, for protection from the elements. Also includes a fitted, removable hood, and reversible epaulettes with the main color [white] on one side and the accent [blue] on the other.

Currently it is available with either a center zipper which folds back, or asymmetrical fastening, for a wider fold on the front panel. There will be more photos posted tomorrow to help describe the options. I also intend to design a shorter, waist-length version at a reduced cost, for those who don’t like to wear long coats, but I had to focus on this one first. Both will include two large outer pockets, and an inside breast pocket. Available with either high quality black plastic coat buttons, or brass half-dome buttons.

I tried to keep the price as low as possible, and the price I have decided on may turn out to be too low, but I will not know until I have made a few. I apologize in advance if I have to raise the price in the future.

Available to order for men and women. The overall design will not be different, only the tailoring will change. As always, can be ordered in virtually any combination of colors. Usually made of canvas or heavy weight denim, but can be ordered to preference.

White Journey coats.

I meant to post these yesterday, but other things came up and I didn’t get around to it. Honestly, while white would look excellent, I can’t imagine a long white coat to remain white for more than about ten minutes. Opting for a light gray wold probably look just as good and be that much easier to keep clean.

I also thought that it would look great in taupe or sand/tan.

If you think of me as a guy in an open-front shop with a big sign saying ‘Sarto’… it’s not quite right, but it is a dream of mine.

Nonetheless, even now I think of myself as the tailor, selling assassins their gear, clothing, and the odd parachute.

That said I am always happy to post photos submitted by satisfied customers.

Speed Racer Jacket.

Designed for forward mobility with the arms. I’ve driven a total of about 8 hours in this jacket, and it’s super comfortable. Doesn’t have pockets on the outside, to preserve that streamlined look, but instead has an inside breast pocket on either side. I’m going to offer it with or without the quilting on the blue sections of fabric, so there is a deluxe version, and an economy version.

Like all of my other jackets, this one is available in any color scheme you ask for, assuming I can find the fabric.

Economy - $250

Deluxe - $300

The Templar.

This was an inspiration I had this morning, and it was an easy enough design that I decided to draw it today. I’ve been so full of ideas lately, that I decided to make a basic front/back template of a man and a woman, so that I can get my ideas down faster.

This one will be made in the same way as the Modern Assassin Armor, having a lined and unlined version with 2 outside pockets and an inside one. Probably denim, or anything of a similar weight, for the fabric. But because the pattern is less complex, the price will probably run a little lower, but I won’t make an estimate until I’ve got a prototype.

—I hope I don’t lose fans for designing a Templar jacket… >.>

Modern Assassin Armor

This is the one I made for Hank. I tried to color correct the photo to closely match the actual colors. It’s intended to be the darker colors of Ezio from Revelations, which had a more burgundy red, and blueish/grey. I also included an image of the internal of the jacket, showing the full lining, with a panel of stretch cotton in the back so that the lining never gets in the way of your mobility.

When you order one, be sure to challenge my original vision with your own input on color choice.

Lined - $350 USD

Unlined - $240 USD

Modern Assassin Armor.
To go with the other modern assassin hoodies I’ve designed. This one I see as a light weight denim with a nice soft lining. He’s also wearing an Assassin overshirt that I’m working on.

Dr. Doom
Finally another supervillain to accompany Darkseid and Ganondorf.
I imagine this as a nice wool pea coat with a removable zipper panel that the hood is attached to. Back and side sketches to follow. Happy New Year!
