Business is booming, and it is requiring me to change my ordering system a bit. In the shortest terms, there are now going to be two options for ordering:
1) Pay now, help support business expansion and the first run of jackets, and be among the first to receive a Kenway jacket.
or..
2) Wait until things have settled down, and I become more set up to support a larger order volume.

Well, here we are, one week since the reveal of the Kenway jacket, and I have since received more than 1400 emails regarding it. That’s not including facebook messages or Tumblr asks. That is more than 15x what I am used to as an ‘overwhelming response’. And I owe it all to my loyal followers for getting the word out, and helping to kick this business into the next level.
I sent out a few order forms early last week, and stopped when I awoke to an inbox with 150 new emails on Thursday. Since then, I have been watching the numbers rise, and planning the best way to respond to such a high volume of interest in my product. I’m sorry for making you all wait, but I wouldn’t be able to meet the demand by rashly sending out hundreds of order forms, and setting aside the next year and a half making them all by myself.
So here’s how it is going to work:
I am spending the next day or two readying my official website for it’s initial launch, focusing on creating a hub for the Kenway jacket first.
I am planning or splitting the Kenway orders into two runs, for now. This means that orders will be open only temporarily at first, and will reopen in the future, when I have completed producing the first run.
I am training 5 new employees, and I have very little idea of how quickly we will be able to produce things once we have become a well-honed crew. I also have no basis to guess at how many of these emails will become individual orders. Due to those variables, at present I cannot begin to guess at how long it will take for any given order to be completed.
Yet, at the same time, I need funds to be able to produce the orders I do get. Therefore, I am presenting the option to the purchaser—either pay now, and be a part of the first run of jackets, which has an uncertain wait-time, or put in an order form, without spending the money to reserve your spot for the second run, without making the commitment until production times become more predictable.
So, basically, if you participate in the first run, you will be supporting the growth of my business directly, by committing to purchasing a product with the understanding that you will receive it as soon as it can be made, which could take 3-6 months. Your purchase will be guaranteed to meet your satisfaction 100%. Your investment will go into purchasing necessary equipment, machinery, and materials, as well as pay my new employees, and I will be eternally grateful for your support.
Alternatively, if you are not comfortable purchasing a product which has an uncertain production time, but are interested in buying one when things settle down a little, filling out an order form will offer you a spot in line for the second production run. When the first run is completed, you will be emailed and offered advance notice for putting in your order before the second run is made open to public orders. There is still an uncertainty here, as the situation may change as the business progresses. But I will cross that bridge when I get there, knowing that product quality, and offering individualized product is of the utmost importance to me as a designer and businessman.
As soon as the new website and ordering system is launched, I will email the link to everyone who has been waiting patiently in my inbox, and then I will post the link here in this post, as well as in it’s own post. More information to come in the next couple of days.
Before I close this out, I just want to thank everyone again for supporting my efforts to redesign the fashion world, and offer gamers and nerds clothing they can feel proud to be a gamer in.
